mass meeting

the assembling of most or all of the members of a labor union in order to reach a decision on workforce policy. Mass meetings were frequently called during the 1960s and 1970s to determine whether or not industrial action would take place. In the United Kingdom, the most memorable examples occurred at British Leyland.
